(+)-Catechin is an antioxidant flavonoid that has been found in V. vinifera and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits COX-1 and lipid peroxidation induced by AAPH. (+)-Catechin inhibits the proliferation of MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells and the binding of estradiol to the estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor.
