Tyrosol is a derivative of phenethyl alcohol. It has a role as an anti-arrhythmia drug, an antioxidant, a cardiovascular drug, a protective agent and a fungal metabolite. As a metabolite from an endophytic Streptomyces sp. tyrosol can promote an increase of intracellular cAMP special on GPR12 transfected cells, such as CHO and HEK293, which means it may be a possible ligand for GPR12.
