Streptozocin is a nitrosourea antineoplastic agent used in the treatment of metastatic pancreatic islet cell carcinoma. Streptozocin is known to inhibit DNA synthesis, interfere with biochemical reactions of NAD and NADH, and inhibit some enzymes involved in gluconeogenesis.
