Stiripentol is an anticonvulsant agent used with clobazam and valproate as an adjunct to treat refractory generalized tonic-clonic seizures in Dravet syndrome. Stiripentol enhances GABAergic inhibition and prolongs the open duration of GABA-A receptor chloride channels by a barbiturate-like mechanism.
